Dimpled/Drilled Rotors Difference??

WOOOOOAAAHHHHHHH Big guydid you read this:
YOU ARE BIDDING ON 2 FRONT AND 2 REAR BRAND NEW BREMBO DRILLED/SLOTTED OE BRAKE ROTORS
2: When you go to the Brembo brake web pages you see Brembo makes drilled OR slotted, not the combination.
3: You can get Raybestos D/S rotors from NAPA $50 each. So that is $200 no shipping for the same rotors at NAPA or from rockauto.com for a bit less.
Overall D&S rotors are NOT for track use. Slotted are OK and so are dimpled. The slots or dimpels remove brake dust, but are still stress points which may start cracks.
Still the best rotor is the Raybestos rotor from NAPA $25 each no shipping or Rockauto.com about $22 each plus shipping.
Good Luck

I went with the slotted/dimpled instead of the cross drilled as I want to auto-X or road race at some point. The drilled ones create weak points where the rotors can crack/break under severe de-acceleration. They seem to work ok for street use, but then again, one persons street driving... you get the point!
I put these on with a set of Hawk HPS (not the HPS plus just yet) and the set up works quite well.
becarful with zinc coating as it MAY decrease stopping distances until the zinc is warn off. Rember to propely BED the rotors in too.

To "Bed" or 'season' the rotor is to transerfer some of the brake pad material to the rotor. This can only be accomplished with heat.
Process of 'bed" or 'seanson'
after putting on new pads or rotors, best not to do at same time
take car out to a nice quite straight road. ALL BRAKING MUST BE DONE IN A STRAIGHT LINE.
speed up to 40 mph then STOMP on the brakes. step on the brake peddle hard enough to ALMOST activate the ABS.
do these 40 to 5 mph stops 3 to 5 times
then do 80 to 5 mph stops the same way. 3 to 5 times
then drive around to 30 to 40 min to cool ther rotors and brake pads
put car away over for 24 hours ( not over night) to continue the cooling process.
The KEY factor is HEAT. So this process above should be done in a short period of time. ie. one right after the other.
Zinc coating MAY delay this process as it will need to be done after all the zinc is warn away.
This process is soo much fun I like doing it for the heck of it. It is like doing a 'stoppy" on a motorcycle - putting the nose on the ground and the rear wheels come ( almost in the vete ) come off the ground. Yes it also helps you learn hard controled braking as well.

And it does take time for the zinc to become worn off of the pad surface of the rotor.
