Default Bang/clunk!!!

Every once in awhile when I make a slow left turn I will hear a loud bang/clunk type noise. It sounds like it is right behind and to the drivers side of me.

I have no drivablitiy issues. I'm thinking feul tank? I do sometimes have problems filling my tank...maybe a loose float or something.

Any ideas...??????????

Check the torque on your left rear Hotchkis bushings.

Assuming they use factory settings:
upper: 49 lb-ft.
lower: 70 lb-ft.

Bob (hows it going?)

You know .... I wouldn't know how to check the torque on my toe nails.
Andy did the sway bar install so I will have him check it next time I see him.

Sounds closer to the to me than the rear sway bar....

Thanks

GOOD Howard - I was actually considering signing up for your run this weekend (then I looked up where Newbury Park was on Mapquest). Figure I'd be too wiped from x-LA traffic by the time I got there to enjoy the run!

I know you said that, but those kind of noises are almost always sway bar... especially if you have no driveability problems. It could also be the end link (I think the Hotchkis ones are adjustable). Noise can be transmitted in weird ways through the chassis.

In any event, Andy can check all this stuff in short order.

I am about 20 minutes closer than Andy's. You would have no traffic. Another guy is coming from anahiem. You should come!!!

People have complained about this noise most times it happens when going up a driveway. Sometimes the sheet metal between the seat and the fuel tank buckles. Try driving with your hand on that panel -pass. side. walt
