Ripples in the air coupler?
What is the reason for the ripples in the air brige coupler? -- Is it only for ease of assembly (adjustment for misalgnment), or did GM purposely incorporate it into their design to purposely create turbulence which does not seem to make any sense?-- I would think that smooth uninterupted air flow would make more HP? Maybe at 405 HP it is unimportant, but the more we modify to increase power then maybe it then becomes an issue requiring a aftermarket "smooth" style coupler???

After 8 years this, simple part would have changed if there was any benifit in adding HP. The new 7 liter Zo6 500 Hp engine is using this same type coupler.
