Okay, 2003 vette here in fl. it runs 220 plus a few. an its winter. ive been told thermostat change is not enough fan setting has to be changed .ive had 58 an 67 no programing there. so do i have to buy some reprogrammer or do shops have capabilites.?
A reprogramer will work, a tuner has a programer, or you can buy a Vinci fan controler, a thermostat and fan controler (all in One ) or a hayden fan controler from pep boys, they are around 50 dollars, this is the most inexpensive route.
The biggest advantage of programming is that it's more easily reversible, biggest downside is cost.
a Vinci or a hayden controller is easily reversable.. you just turn it off.
the hayden controller 49 dollars is the best bang for the buck,, the Vinvi is just a Hayden with all the wires cut to a specific length for a C5 and instructions specific to a C5..There is a Tech tip on the C5 tech tip section about how to install a hayden controller..
I use a Vinci and it works perfectly.. when I run my 160 stat in the summer I use the Vinci controler.. in the winter I turn it off and put my 190 stat in and use the factory programmed settings .
