I mounted my Raptor on the top of the A-pillar. Raptor is one of the smaller ones, is very easy to set and is high quality with bright LED's. Mine has blue LED's but you can get red, green or yellow as well.
I didn't put mine there because the Raptor is easily reconfigured using the dip switches which are not accessible in the vent. It is a nice stealthy location though.
Yeah, I hear that. Been trying to figure out a way to make the vent removable by itself. Just the face. Then I can pull out the raptor (it's velcro'd in) and adjust it.
Anyone have a shift light? Where did you mount it and what brand did you buy?
Mounted mine in the middle of a 3 gauge pod. I'm using the SW Ultra-Shift ... has red LEDs and a red a digital rpm readout in the middle... way cool at night. The shift point is programable from the front of the gauge... you don't have to mess with those stupid "pills" to change the shift point. http://www.redlinegaugeworks.com/sit...25&interval=20
I have a Harlan Shift Light, it is mounted on top of my rearview mirror (The center one inside the car), you won't notice it unless you are looking for it
I have mine in the center AC vent and I hate it. Its too far out in my peripheral vision during daylight so I have to concentrate to use it. At night its just fine.
Could someone tell me how these lights are hooked up? Do they need to be tied into certain circuits or ?? I know that it is a naive question, but I also know a light would help and just not sure how much trouble it is to install.
I am mounting mine in the A-piller. I will epoxy the leds from the back and just have the leds sticking throug. It is mounted low by the defroster vent. I also have a spare A-pillar cover I bought from the wrecking yard. this way I can replace it and go back to stock at any time.
