I have a free 2.73 coming this week. I will be looking at 3.73's in that bad boy. I know DTE does it however, a member here said he knows where to get the needed parts to do the work. Hopefully he will see this post and reply so I know where to get whats needed before I dig in. DTE has the super duty clutch packs on sale. Bob
ive heard its kind of tough, the question is how tough is it??
Unfortunately it can't be done, you have to have a carrier from a 3.15 or greater axle ratio. There was a shop that was installing bigger gears in the 2.73 carrier about a year ago. I have not heard anything about them lately. I am not positive but it might have been DTE, give them a call.

Sorry guy's but, DTE does it all the time. Parts are available for the do it yourself crowd (like me) I just can't remember the form members name who located the spacer to use the 2.73 carrier.

completely... false (at least for the past 2 to 3 years).
DTE has been doing this for at least a couple years now. And they warranty their work. It does take some special machining and a unique "spacer" that they manufacter themselves - but it is done... and done right by them.
The more options available to us Corvette owners... the better
