Battery help

After reading all the posts talking about leaking batteries I decided to check mine. The numbers do not seem to match up with anything I have read so can someone help me by telling me what type of battery I have. It is an AC Delco #4969 and says to replace with a 78-6YR. Is this the desired gel battery that won't leak or is this a lead acid and thus a potential problem waiting to happen? The car is a 2001 Vert.

Battery

you have a regular lead acid battery.the 78 6yr is 770 c.c.a.

Thanks Blacktop. Although not the answer I was hoping for, at least I now know what has to be done. Time for an Optima.

This is what you are supposed to have:

My ACDelco AGM has been performing flawlessly (over 3.5 years now). It cannot leak, so I'll replace it only if it dies. If your battery looks like mine, you too, may have some life left in er.
