Default Rear Hatch won't open

When it is around 45 degrees or less the rear hatch on my '01 will not pop open. The only way I can get it open is to lean back in the hatch and push up on the glass while pushing the button on the remote. Anyone else experience this?

Your probably just need to lubricate the struts on each side of the hatchback. Spray some silicon on them and that should take care of the hatchback sticking in place.

The struts need to be done after the things pops up. If you're having problems getting it to pop out of the latches, then spray the latches. The latches on my '98 were getting sticky in he high 20 low 30 degree mornings, and a good shot of silicone spray into the latches did the trick.

Thanks for the info. Will be spraying them down this evening, if I can get it open. Have a happy holiday!

You might have weak struts! Does it hold the hatch up without any problems?

Once it opens, it will hold up with no problems. It just sticks when it is cold. When it is warm - hot outside, it will pop open with no problems.
