The lumbar seat control on my drivers seat in my 2002 vert is stuck on. I pulled the fuse and it now doesnt drain my battery. I am wondering, is this something pretty easy to replace? or should it be done by the dealer? I bought the car in another state (2 hour drive) and they said they will fix it but I didnt want to have to spend the whole day going to CT to have this done? If they send me the new switch do you think its doable? Anyone done this before? Thanks
The seat is pretty easy to work on. A service manual helps avoid guessing and changing out parts unnecessarily. If the switch is actually the problem, it's no biggie to change yourself. If it's not and you end up burning time diagnosing the real issue you may or may not come out ahead.

had same problem on my '98, ended up being a corroded control, it's easy to take apart and clean with a knife(20 minutes), if you need a hand i'm located in avon,ct
Do you have any directions you can send me that explain how to take the seat apart to get to the control? I don;t have a service manual. Sounds like I should get one...

the contacts are in the control on the side of the seat, philips screw in front and on under the recline handle, unplug it and take it apart
I have a 98 conv and my battery has been draining slowly. I suspected the drivers power seat, removed fuses and that's what it was. I took the switch out (no big deal) and popped the switch open. On the inside was a metal plate that I assume was there to sychronize the outer handle with the three switches, probaly to allow only on switch to operate at one time. It was borken in half and I assume that it was probably leaving one of the switches on. I've removed it and everything seems good so far, we'll see. I also looked at where the switches contact and could see no burns or corrosion at all.
