Default BCM Question

Has anyone of you had to replace the Body Control Module on your C-5. I believe I may be having to do that soon. Can you tell me the kinds of things that happen when one goes bad? On my 2001 coupe, I get all kinds of warning messages on the DIC and all the lights come on, such as the Active Handling Light, ABS light, etc. I also get messages like, service engine soon; reduced power; check tire monitoring sensors; low fuel; etc.
Also, my windows quit operating; as well as the power door locks and the radio quits working.
I can turn off the engine, and it may clear everything and then act like nothing is going on for a day or two, and then the same things happen again.
I have replaced the battery and had all of the 9 grounding connectors checked and tightened on the car. My mechanic, who is not a dealership, advises me to take it to the dealership as he says the BCM is warranted for up to 8 years.
Does anyone have any expertise in this area? Your help is appreciated.

When you replaced the battery did you check to see if the old battery was or had been leaking?
Your PCM is right under the battery and if acid has gotten to it or the wiring it could cause the car to act as you've described.

Your BCM is in the passengers foot well behind the toe board. Most of the time the BCM looses it mind if it is exposed to moisture!!The passengers foot well is prone to leaks from several places. Most of the time you will never even know it leaking. Examine the carpet and carpet underlayment near the BCM. If it is wet or damp PLEASE let me know. Most of the time the water drains to the area directly under the seat. Give the carpet a good look for moisture.

I had to replace my BCM because mine git wet (more than once) and the circuit board was corroded and died. If it needs to be replaced the dealer will need to do it. It has to be programmed by the use of a TECH II to match your VIN, and options.

I had the 98 Coupe from HELL! This was 90% of the issue.

PCM is warranteed for 8 years 86,000 not the BCM...BCM is 3 years 36,000...Loose terminals (orange and black wires) in the 2 connectors that pass through the acordian door jam grommets for the left and right doors will give you the exact same symptoms that you describe Intermittent power (orange wire) and ground (black wire) to the door modules causes the other modules to freak out, common problem
