Passive Entry Problems
The buttons on the fob still function, yet passive lock and unlock do not. Additionally, I have three fobs and the buttons work on all three, yet again passive does not.
I replaced the batteries with new ones in the fobs..no difference.
My red top Optima will be three years old in Jan 2005, and the voltage charge shows at 13 + volts when the engine is running. The battery does not seem low on charge at start up after a night's rest.
On warranty, the dealer changed out the RFA antenna, located behind the drivers seat in the very front of the trunk area...no difference.
Dealer figures my aftermarket speakers are the issue. Even though I've had the same speakers for four years with no passive problems. So I removed the speakers and placed it two feet away in the trunk...no difference.
I have an factory service manual, and read the passive section. This did not help my quest for a cure.
Any ideas/ happen to anyone else?
