Default Airbox Screws

A couple of weeks ago I found one of the torx and rubber grommets missing where it attaches the front of the car. I installed the new parts today but I am unable to get to the torx to tighten them. Is there a secret. I tried to do it with the unit apart but then I can't get the airbox assembly together. Help. Thanks.

If you can't get to the parts the way they are now, pull the air box off of the MAF (and out of the car), replace the bolt, pull the rubber grommets off of the bolts, and fit them into the air box, lube the inside of the grommets (to ease re-assembly), and put the air box back on the car, MAF end first, then push on the back-side of the air box to seat the grommets (I usually use a very long screwdriver, or straight pry bar to put pressure on the area required.. It's a bitch to do by hand.)

I already yanked the box and installed the grommets and screws. It's when everything is in place that I can't get to the torx to tighten them.

Once the screws are installed that's it, you can't tighten them anymore. The process is exactly as described in the post above.

I think the confusion here is that the screws stay in the frame when removing (or installing) the air box.. The grommets slide on and off them, with the ridge of the screw keeping the grommet in place once it's seated. You should never have to remove the screws from the frame under any "normal" circumstances..

Okay, I think I've got it now. When I took it off the screw was in the grommet. The whole unit was loose. Install the screws in the frame and push the airbox/grommets over them? Gotcha. Thanks.
