1. The car can do without them, but you'll occasionally get an error message on the DIC.
2. If the Roja's don't support the sensors, you'll need to glue the sensors on, or use a band to clamp it on.
3. Can you see your tire pressure on the DIC? If you can, then you have tire pressure sensors.
It's not crucial to have them but, if you decide to leave them off you should have the wheel sensor option turned off using a tech II to avoid error messages.
IF the wheels accept the sensors; you remove the exist rubber valve stems and replace them with the TPSs but, you should get new O-rings b/c they have a tendency to leak when reinstalled.
Do you have wheels sensors? Check your DIC. Under the gauges option you should have tire pressure readings if you have the sensors.
I'd be paranoid without my wheel sensors. Since moving from runflats, I always check the pressure at the start of every trip via the DIC. I don't want any surprises.

The TPM function can not be turned off on 97-00 cars.
That RPO function became accessable in 01 to turn off the tire pressure monitoring on the Z06... this might be bad news for you... but good news for anyone with a Z06 that would like to ADD the sensors to their wheels and activate the monitor...
IMO if you can manage to put the sensors in your new wheels, do it. I had a flat on my rear pass wheel that the sensor had not been working in 3 or 4 months, and didn't notice the flat for at least a mile. The tires were getting down to the wear bars so I was just going to replace the sensor when it was time to replace tires. That was my first flat on a low profile tire, it was not an EMT. Lucky the wheel didn't get FUBAR.
Check out the UH-OH page on my website in sig to see the flat, yech. Would have been nice to get a warning from the pressure monitoring system. The real scary part was that I was on my way to run my buddie's big-turbo RX7, that would have really sucked at 130mph.
