I had the headers on my 68 vette Jet-Hot coated, after I had had them on the car for awhile but they would not warranty the headers. The reason they gave me was that they could have some rusting at that point. My experience with stainless is that it will corrode eventually.
Both responses are on the money. The thing to remember is if the header is rusting the rust will continue under the coating. It is best to have it done when new but still works the same on used headers. I personally have had new and used headers coated.
That is what I was thinking ROJO99 but I am not metal expert. So pretty much the stainless we are dealing with is not pure stainless? Proably to help with the cost?
