Question to those that installed this inside there cars.
Did you cement it in place or just lay it in?
Did the orginal carpets still lay flat in place after doing it?
Thanks in advance for the information.
The FROST KING insulation foam material comes with an adheasive already on the foam. The adheasive is not permanent, just stickey and the foam can be removed at a later date and or removed and repositioned if necessary. I recommend letting the rolls of insulation sit in a warm area prior to using it so it unrolls off the roll better.
It is very thin and there are very few places where it interfears with carpet fit. I layed it on the tunnel sides and top plus added the foil covered bubble wrap on the sides of the tunnel to help keep the heat out.
I found that it made the carpet contact the sides of the seat, sooo I cut the bubble wrap out where the seat bolsters rub the carpet. it worked wery well.
It was a very worth while mod with very noticible and rewarding results!!
I used 4 rolls, had no problems placing the carpet back, just kneed and press it in place with extra attention in the corners so the carpet dosn't bulge, cut the noise a bit, nothing revolutionery though.
If you are doing this Mod, which is great, wear gloves because those little foil ends can really leave some nasty cuts (ok my hands are delicate and those cuts hurt - here comes wussy....)
