Default HVAC Display Installation

I'm going to replace the HVAC display on my 98 C5. How difficult is it to remove the console cover. I believe I will need to remove the cover so I can then unscrew the two screws holding the display then unplug and plug in the new display and reset the console cover?
Thanks,
Bill

Here's a Tech Tip the removal of the stock radio. It'll get you as far as you to get to the HVAC controller.

(BTW, I am looking for a DEAD dual-zone climate controller. Is that what you are replacing?)

I just replaced my hvac controller. If you want my dead one, let me know. It took me 15 minutes to replace it. And that's because I had to remove the dash part a second time.

a fairly straight-forward and easy job. follow the instructions in tech tips and you'll have it done in less than an hour.
