When I go to lock my car sometimes the drivers side lock wont work. If I press on it mulitiple times sometimes it will work. Whats wrong with it? Is this an expensive fix?
I have a problem with my passenger side lock not UNlocking (2000 vert), which has been reported before. Someone suggested that there's not enough voltage to drive the lock due to low battery voltage or bad connections. I took the inside door panel off to work on it, but it was just a bit beyond a DIY job. Since it's my passenger side, I don't worry about it too much, except that sometimes I have to unlock the door from the inside to let my passenger in.
There are two things that cause this problem.. one is the DCM, this is the most common problem, The other is a pinched wire that goes through the rubber accordion duct in the top of the door jam under the A pillar. look at the orange wire and the black wire for any crimps..
there is one door control module in each door...
If you are handy at all, you can replace it yourself (like I did). If I remember, it ran about 230 bucks for the DBCM.. The hardest part is removing the door panel.
