I read the Active Handling section in the service manual – Active Handling warm up is temperature dependent – and as per the manual – it looks at incoming air temp. Sure enough I have the following codes as of the last week or so -
DTC P0113 Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circuit High Voltage
DTC P1111 Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circuit Intermittent High Voltage
I’ll pop a new Incoming Air Temperature sensor in and post the results.
My DIC’s “Active Handling Warming Up” message did clear last night after 15-20 minutes of driving, and the same thing happened this morning – after 15-20 minutes it cleared.
Makes sense in my case also, I have been having intermittent problems with the IAT and have one on order from GMPD. Will replace it when the new parts arrive and post results.
Hey S
I started removing tape and working back the IAT wires looking for a problem - I'm going to hook up to a BCCC Members scan software and start fooling with wires.
I popped the IAT plug off, fired up the motor, and with some help, put a meter on the terminals looking for 5 volts – inside a minute of fooling around with the purple and tan wire we were able to see and loose the signal. It looks as if I’ve got a poor connection close to – or in the plug – A new plug’s on order.
The engine wiring harness on top of the engine on the drivers side can chafe and damage the wires on the rear support for the fuel rail. The wiring harness sometimes gets pulled tight across that bracket which is very sharp and the wires get damaged.
Fixed! It was a bad connection in or near the plug. I picked up a replacement plug from Bill at my local Chevy Store. Damn it the plug didn’t cost a couple bucks more that the IAT sensor. I Temped the new plug in - Clip, Strip, &Crimp – Cleared Codes and Done. I’ll do a very neat and clean job of splicing the new plug in - - when it Warms Up!!
