I'm happy, I've found my leak it was the remote bleeder line. It was the end where you actually bleed the clutch line where I zip tied it up. What happened was that the brake fluid would trickle out (not from the thread but the actual end) and go down the stainless braided line. Because of this I could not see it. It then dumped out on the fuel line and ultimately the downpipe (between manifold and cat). I for several days could not figure out what it was, I thought perhaps the fittings were broken.
But tonight I finally looked and felt the stainless line and it was wet. I connected a hose to the end of the remote bleeder and pumped away. I also checked the tightness of the fitting and sure enough, it was very tight by hand. I put a clear vinyl tube over it and pumped away. Sure enough, little by little fluid squirted out. Bingo, found the leak.
Am I supposed the thread sealer the thing? It came with NO instructions so I thought I'd ask here first.

i talked to LAPD about this and they said thats the way it is. I actually sucked fluid out of that fitting even w/ it tight as can be. Makes no sense but they said that was normal. Let me know what you find.
Anyway, my thoughts on the matter is- what if a small piece of rubber would be put into the valve thats small enough to fit in but large enough not to go down in the hole? That way when the fitting is tightened down, it will compress the rubber then seal the fitting?
im just stating what LAPD said. Mine didnt drip but it was not airtight. I dont know how that could possibly be right as you'd thnk if i could suck fluid out air could get in. They basically said the bleed valve is atop the slave and thats ok. However that tappered fitting should seat when tightened to the hose id think. Let me know what you find. Id like to get a better answer as well.
****... I noticed a small bit of fluid on my brake booster (I zip tied my remove bleeder right above it). I re-checked the torque on it and it hasn't dripped since. This thing should be no different than stock b/c you just extending the fitting, once tight there should be no problems.

Can't Be Normal

That's the answer you got? I just checked mine and guess what?? Mine draws fluid through the bleeder also. It doesn't do it on any of my original brake bleeders.
THERE'S A PROBLEM........the bleeder does not seat properly in the housing that it is threaded into.
Now many other people bought external bleeders ?
I hope someone from LAPD reads this thread.
I had the same problem. I took apart the fittings, used teflon sealer, put it back together with some wrenches (as tight as I dared) and it doesn't leak a drop. I even tried using a mityvac with a few PSI of vacuum pressure and it wouldn't sick anything out of the fitting. I've had my remote bleeder for maybe 6-8 months now and it's bone dry.
the wierd th ing is, mine has always been dry, but i could suck fluid out w/ a mighty vac or my mouth. Yet i never had problems caused by air in the system. The fitting is a tapered fitting which should seal quite well but apparently doesnt.
I actually discovered my leak when I was bleeding it. I closed it up, had someone step on the clutch a few times, and then I'm seeing fluid come out of one of the couplings (I forget which one now). That's when I dissassembled it and re-assembled with teflon.
My 'spout' doesn't leak though. Maybe some of them are slightly flawed which doesn't allow a perfect seal?

You did what?

I didn't try using my mouth, that stuff must taste awful. Mine is also dry......but that little vacuum pump sucks it through. What's Going On?
The LAPD unit comes with a washer threaded between line and connector that goes into slave cyl. They have instructions that you are to remove washer and place it between fitting and slave cyl...
Did yours have washer, and if yes did you put it next to slave cyl?

{bleeder screw}---{ss line}---{threaded connector}---{washer}---{slave cyl}

i used the washer in the correct place. The leak is between that fitting that screws in top side (bleeder) and the line itself if i can suck fluid out.
I haven't noticed any leaks or problems with mine, been installed for 10 months.
But I will be putting it through some tests for sure.
I will post what I find.
