Default New C5 owner need intake advice...

I've been reading your forum for quiet some time now. You guys seem to be pretty sharp and have some nice vette's. I 've done Corsa catback exhaust and Foose Speedster wheels (20x10 and 19x9) with ZO6 calipers. I need to decide which intake system I want for the best results... My choices are Granatelli, Varaam, Blackwing, and K&N FIPK. After this mod I want to do cams or LT's and X pipe. Any advise would be great...

Welcome to the Forum!

If I had to chose I would select (in this order) VARARAM and then Blackwing.

When you select a header/exhaust system, take my recommendation and actually expierence a few by riding in a few C5 before you spend the money. I can tell you I like my system all I want but, that does NOT mean that you will like it once you install it.

I have a complete Stainlessworks LT SS system. It fits really well and sounds EXCELLENT! I am very happy with it!

It does not hang down, no plug wire problems and NO resonance!!

I know it wasn't on your short list but take a look at Haltech Stinger. Great bang for the buck, little more than 200 bean for a quality filter and an air bridge. You can even convert the Stinger for cold air setup if you like. Also, I not going to feel so bad about spending $200 on an intake when I upgrade to forced induction , in a couple years when the warrenty is up, I could have spent much more to get by. On the other hand I could have done the Zip tie mode and spent 10 cents, but that is another story.

Good luck and Welcome,
Darion

Thanks for the input guys....I really want to do this right with out wasting money... Darion gave me a good point because I am planning on going forced induction later this year. So I want to match everything up including the cam so I won't be going against what I have when I install the pro-charger or magna...I am definately hooked on boost I have a GSXR 1000 Big Bore Stroker TURBO!!!! I will sale it sometime in the next couple of months then my LS1 will get charged...

Some great advice. I only wish I would've listened in on a few rides before I bought my Borlas.
My only difference is with Kooks headers and I'm very happy with them.
Bear in mind if you go catless it's gonna get really loud. I would do headers and x pipe first and then select exhaust that matches your sound preference. As mentioned above, sitting in someone else's car is the best way to know.
Best Wishes and welcome to the forum!

Go Vararam! The best intake on the market. I tried several before finally going thru the extra work of the Vararam installation. You will definetly feel the difference.
