vette won't always start!!
Went out to warm it up, and it wouldn't start. After about 10 tries it finally started up. Since I bought it used I went out and bought a new battery for it the same day. Went out the next morning to start it, and it did it again!!!I have already replaced the alternator. Any suggestions?
Thanks!!

Like you I had a 98 Coupe and have expierenced the exact same issue. Please explain "will not start"! Will it turn over and over and will not fire or does the starter not turn the engine over.
Do you have a MN6 or AUTO trans?
Do you have any modifications and have you completed any repairs receintly?
When you answer these questions, Please check the codes and see if you have any codes storred in memory.

I did have regular tires installed without the sensors a week ago, along with a 4-wheel alignment. Appreciate any advice!!Patrick

Here is whree you need to start:
Check the following fuses in your Instrument panel fuse panel:
Ign-2 MAXI FUSE# 48, 60 amp
STARTER MAXI FUSE# 50 60 amp
Check the "Clutch Safety Switch"! It is on the fire wall behind where the clutch pedel hits the fire wall. You can check it with an ohm meter to see if it is functioning correctly OR you can disconnect the plug and jumper it out for a test. **NOTE** with the switch jumpered out the car will start with the clutch ingauged and the car can lurch forward!
If all of that check out, you need to examine your Theft Deterrant Realy (TDR).
It is located in the passengers foot well, behind the toe board. The silver box is the BCM! Above the BCM and on the fire wall, you will find a couple relays. Look for one with the following color wires: Red, Purple, Yellow Black and yellow.
My TDR failed and the reason was, it was full of water!! You can jumper the two heavy guage wires (Red and Purple) and the starter solonid should enguage the starter.
One of the other things that you need to examine is the condition of your battery terminals. They should be clean and tight. The terminals should be torqued to 11 ft/lbs. There is a ground connection stud for the battery on the frame rail just outboard the battery. Make sure that it is clean and tight and there is no corossion on the stud or frame rail.
Here is a picture of the stud after the plastic battery sorround is removed:

Please let me know how this works out and if you have ANY more questions>
