"reduce engine power" ??????
the other night the info panel on my 98 coupe flashed "reduce engine power.'' it wouldn't let me apply power until i turned off the ignition, removed the key, and restarted it. now the check engine light is still on...any know what the problems is???

I experienced the "reduced power" issue at the track this past weekend. Run the codes and note what the PCM code(s) is. In my case, it indicated a problem with my MAF, which I discovered had oil fouling it. After cleaning it up with electrical contact cleaner spray, I put it back together, cleared the code, and it ran fine.

Check and post the codes. That is the only way that we will be able to help you figure it out. After you write them down, clear them so that you can check what is going on.
