Hi:
Does anyone have Dynamax headers that have a bunch of leaks, or so it seems? I can't seem to find any but I sure can hear them. Noisy from the top of the motor too.
Does anybody have any suggestions? I have a 01 Z06

Mine sounds the same and I can't find any leaks either. It must be the 'sound' of long tube headers over the stock manifolds. Probably why GM doesn't put them on from the factory.
You're just hearing the 'clickety-clack' of the springs/pushrods etc through the headers. Likely not a leak if you've checked.
All LT headers do this. If you look, you'll find this issue posted in relation to all the major headers.
Why? The metal on most all LT headers is thinner, though the Supermaxx is less skimpy than most. Also, the precats muted things on the stock config for your 2001, but now the exhaust pulses transmit all the way down under you without anything stopping them.
thats another reason i went back to stock. I didnt like all the ticking, u can even hear it outside the car underneath. I thought it was the clutch but nope, its the damn headers. Embarassing sitting at a drive thru and hearing tick tick tick.
My car definitely sounds different than stock, but no clickety click. Are you sure you don't have a leak? If I had to describe the sound I would call it "cleaner".

Yours and my definition of "clickety clack" may differ, but I'm clearly hearing valvetrain normal noise under about 2500rpm. Above that, the sound is wonderful.
I had two guys under my car, with it started on a lift to check for leaks...definitely none in my case.
Start the car, have someone hold a big rag on the exhaust tips to increase the backpressure and start looking for leaks. If there is one you will hear it while the exhaust tries to get out wherever it can, if the ticking is the same its just the pulses and valve train noise
