Default need some help with codes

Hi everyone,

My vette has recently been throwing the "service vehicle soon" codes. It only used to do it when it was wet/raining outside and now today (around freezing and sunny out)It came up today. I checked the computer and all the codes were H. And the same codes keep appearing. So I’m not sure what to do at this point. Here are the codes that keep coming up:

C1281H - Steering Sensor Uncorrelated Malfunction
U1016H - Loss of Communication with PCM
U1064H - Loss of Communication with DCM
B2252H - Key Cylinder Switch Fault DCM-LEFT

I think I know where the key cylinder error came from, I think my key was dirty and I got the "pull key wait 10 seconds" error, cleaned the key and it went away.

No problems with the car in terms of performance and everything works just fine.

Would my battery be part of the problem? Any help is appreciated.

I had a theft code that neither dealer or I could fix. Turned out it was a rusted ground (it also did it when it was damp/raining out) near the battery on the frame. Check your grounds, it's almost always the problem.

Will do, I also have the factory battery and the odometer just rolled over to 31k, Im thinking about replacing it to an optima, i've heard the "loss of communication" errors are commonly due to the battery.

I had some rather SERIOUS ground issues on my 98. Here is a link that explains what I went through and did to resolve the issue.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...al+information

It could also be a weak battery. Have it load tested to see if it has adequate reserve capacity. Most of the time the battery can cause some very strange coes and they occur right at start up.

If you can swap batteries from a known good vehicle and see if that takes care of the issue. cleaning the grounde isnt a bad idea either. It is a free usually takes care of weird issues.

Anytime water has an effect on a C5, you should suspect that the BCM is getting damp/wet. that module is ni the passengers foot well behind the toe board. It is the silver box next to the fuse box. See if the carpet is wet/damp in that area.
