RR Track damaged my HRE!
Noticed it at the funeral today.
Too ticked to take pic. Driver's side front and rear dented. (rear I am shocked the tire didnt go flat)
Looking up HRE's contact info now but wanted to ask here about suggested repair/replacement shops in the US.
Thanks guys (when it rains it pours - its been one of those weeks)

Sorry to hear about the damage. Was the track crossing particularly rough? Speed?

55mph if I had to guess.
and yes, it was a nice jolt as we went over it. (was on a major 4 lane highway so not like it was a raised crossing)
must have had some pavement missing as the dings in the rim are spaced perfectly with the width of the rails..

Ultra-low profile tires, perhaps? More rubber between the road and the wheel has its advantages.
Sorry about the damage.

If you are going to ship them out to get fixed ....call Star Tire and Wheel in Dallas Tx. they have a CNC that can measure and recreate/ rebuild a wheel like new. They recieve wheels from all these so called repair shops around the country. They have the ability to fix the factory wheel for all the exotics that prowl around town here.

Sorry to say but stock rims are there for a reason!
All other fancy rims are going to bend no matter what some smuck is going to quote.
Yes it can be fixed and I also feel for you considering I am so **** about my car, but the fact is that the 1 piece forged rim are there for a reason.
I learned this leason myself!
I hope like me it's not the money that is the worry but just the fact that you now need to go through this process.
Get it fixed but it will happen again, AND AGAIN!

Wheel rapair america is really good at fixing the rims if the damage is minor. HRE will fix it if the damage is more extensive.

OK
Finally home - no noticable vibration in the rear end so I assume wheels are still "true".
Here is a shot from the gravel beyond the shoulder of the road. People were leaving the highway and crossing these tracks on the shoulder of the road while I was present.. leads me to believe this has been a long standing problem.

Rain,
HRE's web site is as follows -
http://www.hrewheels.com
Good luck with getting a replacement.
In reading the sidewall from your tire pictures I believe that you are running the following tire sizes:
Front - 275/30ZR19 = 25.50 inches in diameter & a
3.25" sidewall height
Rear -- 285/30ZR20 = 26.73 inches in diameter & a
3.37" sidewall height
The stock tires on your coupe were:
Front - 245/45ZR17 = 25.68 inches in diameter & a
4.34" sidewall height
Rear -- 275/40ZR18 = 26.66 inches in diameter & a
4.33" sidewall height
That extra 0.9" to 1.0" of sidewall height, as
Traffic Hater has already stated, was put in for a reason.
That's a penalty that we must pay if we put those low aspect ratio tires on those beautiful
HRE rims. -

I would find out who is respsonsible maintaining the crossing, you can't be the only one who has experianced wheel damage or alignment problems from hitting it.
