I've done as many searches as possible on clutch replacement, but still have a couple of questions...
I'm at 418RWHP and my clutch sticks to the floor when pushing it, usually 3rd to 4th shift at high RPM...the stock clutch does not slip, it just sticks to the floor.
My buddy owns a speed shop and will install a new clutch for me for free... I don't go to the track very often and do not want chatter. He recommended upgrading to a Z06 clutch and doing the drill mod. Will the Z06 clutch hold 418RWHP?
I don't want to drop big $$$ like on the exedy, and I've read good things about the LUK Stage II, any comments, suggestions, thoughts... Also, should I replace the master while I'm at it? Thanks in advance...
If you are going to have it all apart, swap in a Z06 master and slave. This usally solves sticking pedal syndrome. The stock Z06 clutch should be fine unless you drag race a lot. You will find conflicting info on the drill mod. I didn't do it to mine and it ahs been fine for around 10,000 miles. I beat the crap out of my car, shift at around 6,400, and haven't had any problems.
After numerous recommendations, I called Tom at Carolina Clutch. What a great guy to deal with! I was going with the Luk Pro Gold, but he recommended the Exedy single and gave me a price I couldn't pass up... I'll post results after the install and break-in!
