Default 2k3 fuel system changes?

I've read here about people griping about the 2k3 fuel system, especially WRT performing major HP mods (ie, problems with increasing its capacity). I'm just curious.. what did they change about the fuel system for 2003, and what are the benefits/drawbacks of it?

Thanks in advance.

Internally regulated fuel pump, no fuel filter, different tanks, different pump/sender assy, more of PITA to work on, more expensive parts. But I hear they have better emmissions capablity and fuel runs cooler. I want the older system, If I had just bought my car a 'lil sooner

On the older pre FFS system to pull the fuel pump out all you had to do was remove the access panel in the left rear wheel well then upgrade the boost pump but now on the newer post FFS fuel system you have to drop the fuel tank out of the car to gain access to thefuel pump which is now installed in the top of the tank.
