I have a 97 C5 and am looking for input on headers (and cats) strictly for this year Corvette. I have been told Dynatech's will not fit on a 97. My next choice is Kook's or QTP's. LG's are a little out of my price range. If you have a 97 C5 what are you running for headers? How do they fit? Do they hang down? Performance gains? I would appreciate answers to the above plus any input you could share to help me make a decision on what to go with. BTW does anyone know what the difference is between 97 and 98 C5's that the Dynatech's wouldn't fit a 97 properly but will fit a 98?
MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR HEADERS CERAMIC COATED!
not just coated(as most companies advertise their headers as)...because that means that it's not ceramic coated!
$188 to ceramic coat any set of Long Tube headers! That includes all warranties, all preping and coating inside and out!
This is the best coating known to man! And if you dont believe me we back all our coatings with a 3 yr labor warranty and a lifetime limited rust warranty!
This is not for the faint of heart!
keep in mind jet hott charges over 300 for the same coating!
I also do deep cryogenic porcessing and powdercoating!
pm me or email me for other prices!

When I was looking into headers, I had to call Dynatech b/c their ad said from 1998 - Up for the C5. Was told that was a typo; carry-over from the F-body ad. The Dynatechs, I was told, DO fit the '97 C5. They seem to be the best deal for new systems (@ $1500). I like the QTP's, but they're pricey for what you get (tri-y's take less material and fewer welds....why are they more expensive @ $1650, on special???).
I have FLP's on mine for about two years with no problems. They do not hang down at all under the car. I picked up about 10hp from them.
Goood luck.

Lou, I appreciate your offer but I really wanted to purchase new.
Quick Time, I almost bought the QTP's but price was better on the ones I purchased.
TopCat, Thanks for letting me know about the typo. I called and Dynatech assured me that the Supermaxx would fit 97's also. They were my first choice and once I found this out along with the terrific price I got I decided to get the Supermaxx's. A lot of things came into play in my coming to this decision; I hope I made the right one!
