Keyless Entry Hack

The following link discusses how it is, "therotically", possible to hack at the keyless entry of automobiles.

Personally I'm not too worried. If I beleived everything I read, I would probably never leave my house.

Here's more information on the vulnerability. Although it has been confirmed that the Mobil SpeedPass and the Ford PATS system both use the TI chip, I've read nothing that indicates the C6 uses it.

From what I read in the other thread a week or so ago, I don't think they can be the same thing. Speed Pass and other similar technology is passive. The C6 is active (two way). I don't think they are the same at all.

my C6 Keyless entry was hacked

However, now my passive locking does not work. I always listen for the horn to confirm that my car locks as I walk away, so I know it was working. If my keyless entry or BCM is damaged I am covered by insurance. I will be taking my car to the dealer next week to see what is up with it.

So be sure to check that your passive locking system or other electronic systems are working properly before you tell your insurance company and the police that there is no damage to the car. I will let you know what the dealer discovers.
