Default Keyless Entry Hack

The following link discusses how it is, "therotically", possible to hack at the keyless entry of automobiles.Personally I'm not too worried. If I beleived everything I read, I would probably never leave my house.

Enjoy the articel for what it's worth.

Yes, we've seen this before. I don't think many here are worried about it.

Here's more information on the vulnerability. Although it has been confirmed that the Mobil SpeedPass and the Ford PATS system both use the TI chip, I've read nothing that indicates the C6 uses it.

From what I read in the other thread a week or so ago, I don't think they can be the same thing. Speed Pass and other similar technology is passive. The C6 is active (two way). I don't think they are the same at all.

Default my C6 Keyless entry was hacked

My 2009 C6 Keyless entry system was hacked last night. They stole some things and then left some of my stuff as well as some of my neighbor's stuff that did not have value to them in the alley where the Police recovered it. There is no physical evidence of forced entry and the officer said that it was the same with the other cars in my neighborhood. They were professionals. They had cable cutters and stole my gun safe.

I always park in my C6 in my garage, but my son is painting furniture for my forth coming grand daughter's nursery in my garage and so I parked in my driveway.

However, now my passive locking does not work. I always listen for the horn to confirm that my car locks as I walk away, so I know it was working. If my keyless entry or BCM is damaged I am covered by insurance. I will be taking my car to the dealer next week to see what is up with it.

So be sure to check that your passive locking system or other electronic systems are working properly before you tell your insurance company and the police that there is no damage to the car. I will let you know what the dealer discovers.

12 year old thread. I think that's a record.
My opinion would be the door was accidentally left unlocked.

Either that, or your car had prior owner(s) who lost a fob that was still active for that car.

Now that would be a stretch.

Probably some how left unlocked.

To date, no verified hacking of the C6.

Now if the C6 would move out of one of the lowest positions on the stolen list.
