I loved it at first. You can just close the door and walk away witout remembering to push the lock button. But I end up turning it off. Reason is that in case if anyone else is left in the car, you can literaly lock them in. Yes literaly lock them "in the car" and no way to get out maybe exept by breaking the glass or exiting tru the trunk (via swith) which it will set off the alarm. Something to think about.

There are release levers for both doors. Better read the owners manual.
As for the passive function, I love it, no fumbling with fobs etc. Just walk away.

What about the door release levers (2) on the floor next to the seats?
I generally like this feature. I'll also admit I have not finished reading the manual as fully as I would like. With that, I have noticed a problem with the passive locking.
I have a 4 year old son who rides with me at times. When he rides along, I get out on my side, close my door and walk around to his side to open his door and release his seat belt (he's in a booster seat and cannot reach the seat belt latch himself). After all that, he gets out and I close his door. When I do all this, the passive locking does not seem to work.
So far, the only work around I have found is to leave my door open while taking my son out. Then I close his door and walk back around to the driver's side and close the driver's door. Passive locking works then, but of course, it would just be easier to close the driver's door initially and use the lock button.
I like the feature, but I'm not sure I can trust it. Last Wednesday when my car went back to the dealer on the flat bed, I went out to take my stuff out of the car without the fob and I was able to open the door!!! That spooked me. I have the dealer checking that one out too.
I too have had the experience of coming back to my car in the garage without fob, and having the door open. Every time this has happened (3 total), I have had a package of some sort on the passenger seat, so have opened the passenger door to remove it before walking away from the car. Seems similar to the guy's story with a 4 year old. But I have tried duplicating the experience on purpose, and cannot. I'm waiting for the service manuals to be available from Helm. Sometimes, their more detailed explanations of how the systems are supposed to work, will answer such questions. Meanwhile, if anyone has any suggested answers other than "computer gremlins", let us know.

Suggestions (other than RTFM) are welcome.

I read this before in another post....but I don't seem to have this problem with mine. I also set the horn to sound when the doors lock, takes about 8sec. Maybe there's a problem with your locking system? or maybe there's a problem with mine, working the way it should Do you have it set to unlock both doors? Maybe thats the problem?

I hate to ask stupid questions, but how do you know it's not working when you do this? The only way to know is to walk far enough away from the car that it automatically locks, then walk back to it WITHOUT the FOB and check to see if it's locked. Is this what you are doing to check it?
I have checked mine and it works fine, but I have never forgotten someone in the car
I set mine the day we got it and have not changed it. My fob is always in my purse so now I don't have to fumble with the fob to lock the car. I have not noticed any problem. I have tested the locking by leaving my purse far enough away from the car and walked back. It was still locked.

I love this feature.

I set passive lock to honk at me, so I always know that it's happened.
I notice that if I get out, and open the passenger door soon, it seems to interrupt the passive lock sequence. Maybe there's a good reason for this, I don't know.

Same here. I assume it is not doing passive lock as there is no horn toot. I have not checked the doors to see if they are locking silently.
