Default Need some advice with SS INSERTS......

Is anyone else having issues with the SS Inserts on the rear bumper??

My stainless steel inserts will not stay on the car. Yes, I thoroughly cleaned the surface before installing. Yes, I carefully bent the letters to match the contour of the bumper. The backing material is so thin that the inserts keep popping away from the bumper.

I have written to SS INSERTS for replacement parts and they are sending me replacements. They have been terrific to deal with.

Anybody else having this issue???

Put mine on in cold N.Y. Had to heat up garage and Vette surface with heat gun. So far so good. Almost a instant bond. Would not move seconds after install. Seems like a good product. Would buy another set for the dash (assuming they fit)

No problems...was the air temp sufficiently warm when you installed?

I put the vinyl inserts on my bumper and have not had any problems so far. They've been on for 2 months. Living in FL, I have to deal with the heat, not the cold, in terms of keeping them on.

Yes, same thing hear! I have also written Barry, but I received no response. This was about a month ago. Yes, I did prep and bend as per instructions but the top of the "E" has pulled away from the car. Unfortunately, this "E" also connects to the 2 T's and the V. If I don't get this corrected, I'll buy a new set from WCC. The other items (billet control *****) are great.

I received instant response from SS INSERTS and he is sending replacement letters to me. I think you should try reaching him again.

Don't get me wrong, the product is excellent quality, I think because of the thin nature of the letters, the bonding material is very thin. Perhaps he will come up with thicker and stick-ier stuff.

Barry @ SS just emailed me and was kind enough to let me know that he'd be glad to send me a replacement piece. He also wrote that we have to bend the long piece more then slightly, almost on an angle to kinda wedge it into the slot in the rear end. (paraphrasing him with my words) I think that those of us who have this problem were a bit timid about really bending this lightweight piece of metal.

Guys, I did email Barry again and he is sending me new pieces. I guess he didn't get my first email. SS Inserts is a class act and that is why they'll get my future business. Thank you Barry and SS Inserts!
