What should I do???
I justed starting my initial conversation with Ken at the Vette Net (Great to deal with so far, by the way).
It looks like it's too late to order Mag Red! Do I wait for the replacement color to be announced or go ahead and place the order with my second choice: Lemans Blue?
Best case scenario is that the replacement color is something like Candy Apple Red...That would be way

Please tell me what has happened to Mag Red? I got my Mag Red coupe on January 28th and really love it. What's the story? I'm curious.

Search around for a Mag Red. Don't settle for a color that is not your first choice. Mag Red is great. I sure love mine. I might even be able to drive it someday if the snow ever goes away.

If you're not in a hurry and really liked the Mag Red, I would wait until Monterey Red is available. The paint code is 80U, it might be on a current GM car that you could look at.

Mag Red and Millenium Yellow are being discontinuted (and replaced) shortly. Orders must be accepted by GM somewhere around 3/10/05.
The catch is GM has not "offically" disclosed what the replacement colors will be as of yet.

Thanks Frank...I've heard the rumors that Monterey Red is going to be the replacement for Mag Red but I'm not sure whether or not to believe it. It could be mere speculation.

find a Mag Red somewhere
There must be quite a selection of Mag Red coupes all around the country, and if you take one off a dealer's lot, you have a lot of room for negotiating a good discount. You can check inventory in a number of ways...a dealer can do an entire country search by color. I think Mag Red looks good...saw it in the dealer's showroom, bought it, and stuck it in a garage until spring (or July, whichever comes first !!).
