I'm looking at the silver/red combo, but someone on the forum seemed to indicate that it's not a desirable combo. I don't care much about resale, but if this combo is less desirable it'll motivate me to negotiate harder.
I have been reading this forum religiously for almost four years. If anyone has posted anything about it being "not desirable" I have not seen it. Perhaps on a forum I don't read. Sure, there will always be some people who don't like some combination, but I can tell you the Silver/Red is much more popular on the C6 than it was on the C5. The reason is the the red interior in the C6 is much richer looking than the C5.
There are several C6 forum "regulars" here who have it, and we all love it. And everyone who has seen my car loves it - including some who were a little skeptical when I ordered it.
Look at the road test in the new Car & Driver (I think March edition). It has a beautiful picture of a silver/red vert that GM supplied to C&D for the road test.
Silver / Red is a classic Corvette / Sports Car combo. If your talking red guts on a yellow car, then yeah, it will be a tough sell. I saw a picture of a Silver / Torch car on ebay in 2000 and knew I would by one like that one day. I had to travel 1000 miles to pick up the one I could find that was in a dealer's inventory a year later. It's in my sig.
btw, there a sliver / red thread below somewhere in this section.
I have a C6 convertible. Silver, Black top, red interior and chromed wheels (not polished). It is, in my opinion, the best looking C6 that I have seen. I have also seen the silver w/black interior, and it does not compare. The red interior is a red/black combination and the carpets are black. It is just killer!
Like anything else, it is a personal preference. My previous convertible, an S2000, was silver/red. I had zero problems selling it for a fair price.
A car isn't an investment. Don't fret over resale. Buy what you want and enjoy it. That will be better than buying something you don't want as much in hopes that you make a few more bucks back 5-years later.

Check out TRAYC6 for a profile with pics of the combo. The other thing that makes it more desirable in the C6, IMHO, is that the Red is only the seats. In the C5 it had too much red in the interior.

Incorrect. See my pics above. Red exists outside of just the seats in the C6.

What do you all think about the colors? Thanks.
In the end it is all personal choice
SO buy what YOU like and dont worry about others
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder !
I just ordered my C6 in silver/red.I think it is a very striking combination.Mercedes also must think the same, since their McClaren SLR on the show circuit is in that combination too.Silver/red or black/red was always in the cards for me.Why be boring?

It's a great combo. Don't pay too much attention to what people on here say, most of it is subjective. If YOU like, then go for it.
Mine's Silver/Red too. I was skeptical as well when I first saw it, but when you see it up close and sit in it, you really start to appreciate how nice the red looks against the silver. Red interiors tend to look good against neutral colors (White, Silver & Black).
I'll take the flip side, but it's just my personal taste. Silver and red play off each other perfectly. These pics look great and one all shined up, especially a vert would catch my eye. But I've seen silver at a number of dealerships and it would be my last choice. It's classy, but not striking.
Find one of Tracy6 's posts. I think she has links to her car and it was a great reference for me while deciding. Of course I just ordered DSOM and Cashmere int. Just can't get away from that color in my head.....
