In my 1999 Trans Am owners manual it said to change the limit slip differential oil around 7500 miles. My C6 manual does not say to change this oil at all. I e-mailed GM and asked this question but they did not respond so I called them. They had no idea if and when to change it. They called my dealer and asked them and they said to change it at 50,000 miles. Is this correct or was that a good guess.
The owner's manual doesn't say anything about changing it, just checking the level. See page 5-43. Just wondering where the dealer got the 50,000 mile number.
I have a 2004 Jeep Cherokee and the manual says to change the diff oil every 12,500 miles...at a charge of $149.00. I have 30k on it so far and I havne't changed it...all is working well.
