Some young guy in a new BMW cut off my cousin who was driving has 1972 yellow vert . My cousin (who was at that time a body builder and kickboxer) caught him at a stop light, got out of his car and bashed in all of his windows with a tire iron.(said guy just sat there crying)
When he got home the police was on the phone. Someone took down his license plate number. The person on the other end of the phone just happen to go to high school with him , warned him, and told him to forgetaboutit.
Become a Corvetteforum junkie like I did! It's addictive! I am constantly learning new stuff about this car from this web site. I can't put it down. I need to get a life!!!
Right now Im shopping for a blue digital radar detector
I love it! I bet the BMW driver has changed into a very courteous driver now!
Back in the good ol days you could do that. Now a days it doesn't matter how big you are. Someone will shoot you. Ever see the original Indiana Jones? He shoots the guy with the big knife! Priceless!
Amen!! I'm 6'5" 265 lbs. and have been taking Tae Kwon Do for 15 years. I could never beat a gun from a distance. Up close, yes. Regardless, I would not want to F&*K up my car because of Road Rage. It's not worth it.

That makes me mad just reading it... OMG... not sure what I would of done... I have a temper that usually gets the best of me at times... then I regret my actions later... but you did the right thing...
My bad story.... I was in my brand new 93... top down... guy spits tobacco juice out and it flies back on my car... needless to say I was livid....
i ordered mine yesterday through Ken Fitchner. I also just sold my 00 C5. and there is nothing that can curb the withdrawl...
In retrospect how many people have pulled up along side and said wow, thats a beautiful car? take the good with the bad. There are some true pieces of work out there. Public caning should be introduced. Singapore has the right idea...
Wife and I went to dinner last night to celebrate a wedding aniversary. We took the Toyota Solara rather than the C6 or the Bimmer. I told her we could enjoy the evening without worrying that somebody would be screwing with the car. It was a shame we had to do that on a special night. In high school you had to worry about somebody trashing your car if yours happend to be nicer than somebody elses. Things don't change later in life.
Driving a conspicuous car has its ups and downs -- mostly ups, of course. As others said, it almost never pays to chase someone down, though I've had a hard time resisting some times. I try to have the presence of mind to get a license number.
I haven't tried this recently, but as of a couple of years ago, the Department of Motor Vehicles here (North Carolina) would give you the name and address of a license plate holder. All you had to do was show up at a DMV office, state a plausible reason, and pay a small fee (about $2, as well as I can remember).
I used this to get the name and address of someone that threw trash at my car. I wrote them an anonymous, pleasant enough, non-threatening letter pointing out that (1) I had reported their antics to the police, and (2) it was very easy for me to track them down; hence, potentially anyone they offend in traffic knows where they live.
I don't know that it did any good, but it was safer than chasing them and more satisfying than doing nothing.
A buddy of mine who drives a very pricey Ferrari warned me that there are some real @$$holes out there when it comes to driving nice cars. I've always parked in out of the way places to avoid dings, and gone the distance in protecting my cars be it my Subaru, Mustang and now my Vette. I didn't really know what he was getting at until now.
I was in a left turn lane when a dually Chevy pick up sped by my right side and threw a piece of candy into my car (top was off)! It was one of those round red & white mints. It hit my mirror then landed in my lap.
Needless to say it pissed me off to no end. I didn't go after him, my lane wouldn't allow it. Good thing I guess. It's times like these that I wish I was a cop. Some people have no respect for others. I am getting so tired of the "all about me" attitudes these days.
I saved for years to by my dream car and nobody has the right to do that to me or anyone else.
Now I know what my Ferrari buddy was referring too. He says stuff like that happens to him more than he'd like to admit just because he drives a nice car (and worked hard to own it).
Oh well, I'm off to the Long Beach Grand Prix tomorrow. Can't wait for the drive from Vegas to LB! Just needed to vent.
I think I probably would have written down his plate number and called the cops when I got home. He probably wouldn't have gotten anything but a call from the cops and a "no no" but that alone would have annoyed him! Plus if they keep getting calls about him, the punishment may be more serious.
It's a good thing you couldn't follow him and get into an ugly confrontation. Idiots like that are what they are and there's nothing you can do about it. It'll probably happen again at some point too. Your friend is right..unfortunately.
Most of these pathetic, jealous people have nothing to lose, while if you are driving a brand new Corvette, you probably have a lot to lose. I've seen it happen in tampa with a bunch of punks harassing a Tampa Bay Buccaneer football player, and he retaliated.. and got arrested and put all over the news.....
Best just to get any info you can on the car and report it to the police....

Best advise is to ignore them. I once had been harrassed by a guy trying to pass me on the freeway that was full in every lane and impossible for anyone to pass. (what an idiot) When I existed the freeway I rolled my eyes at him. (mistake) There was a 1 foot divider between us. He jumped the divider with his car and the chase was on. Being familiar with my part of town, I was able to elude him in shopping mall parking lot that had an very obscure exit. As I drove the opposite way on the main road, I could see him stopped looking for me and banging his steering wheel in anger.
Lesson learned. Don't make eye contact and ignore the nut cases. You will stay alive to drive your vette another day.
I whent to the bank yesterday. Parked far away from the entrance in a isolated part of the parking lot. I had my head down doing some paper work and listening to music with the windows up before getting out. When I lifted my head up to my amazement some guy in an old beat up sedan had pulled in along side of me. On the other side of me another idiot pulled in next to me in a junker. At the same time there were plenty of empty parking spots open closer to the entrance. Geez...some people!
Last week here in San Antonio, a couple of kids in a ricer accidently cut some redneck driving a pickup truck off on the freeway while they were exiting. The guy followed them off the ramp, waited until they stopped, got out of his truck, walked up to their car, and shot the driver dead...
No sense taking chances....
Almost the same roadrage incident happened in nearby Akron, Ohio. Except when the guy walked up to their car he pulled out a butcher knife and stabbed the driver in the heart killing him instantly. Be careful who you "accidently" cut off in traffic.

Just wondering if the candy was still wrapped? If so maybe he thought you needed some sweeting up? If it wasn't my cousin (owns a older Vette) used to say " A 350 under the hood and a 357 under the seat, MAKE MY DAY"

I know what you mean. Driving my new vette vert and a car drives by with the kids spitting out the window at my car as they change lanes to get in front of me. Then they start throwing ice out the window hoping it hits my car. I just slowed down and let them go. It would be nice to be a cop and pull them over and give them a good scare. Then let the parents when they get a ticket.
A few years ago, when I was driving my old '94 Nissan Pathfinder, I had to go downtown to a less than hospitable area. In the open lot, not one of those pay to park places, the only other car was a brand new porshe. The guy was getting out of his car as I pulled up and parked right next to him. He looked baffled and asked why, out of all the spots in the lot, I parked next to him.
Looked his way with a smile and said, "So my car won't be the one stolen!" My buddy who was with me at the time and I laughed for a good long while after that.
Sorry to hear all the horror stories, I've had loose change thrown at me, on more than one occasion!
