Default First bad Vette Experience

A buddy of mine who drives a very pricey Ferrari warned me that there are some real @$$holes out there when it comes to driving nice cars. I've always parked in out of the way places to avoid dings, and gone the distance in protecting my cars be it my Subaru, Mustang and now my Vette. I didn't really know what he was getting at until now.

I was in a left turn lane when a dually Chevy pick up sped by my right side and threw a piece of candy into my car (top was off)! It was one of those round red & white mints. It hit my mirror then landed in my lap.
Needless to say it pissed me off to no end. I didn't go after him, my lane wouldn't allow it. Good thing I guess. It's times like these that I wish I was a cop. Some people have no respect for others. I am getting so tired of the "all about me" attitudes these days.

I saved for years to by my dream car and nobody has the right to do that to me or anyone else.

Now I know what my Ferrari buddy was referring too. He says stuff like that happens to him more than he'd like to admit just because he drives a nice car (and worked hard to own it).

Oh well, I'm off to the Long Beach Grand Prix tomorrow. Can't wait for the drive from Vegas to LB! Just needed to vent.

Happy motoring!

SB

It's a good thing you couldn't follow him and get into an ugly confrontation. Idiots like that are what they are and there's nothing you can do about it. It'll probably happen again at some point too. Your friend is right..unfortunately.

He threw candy because you've got a "Sweet" ride.

Forget about it and get lit up in Long Beach. Wish I was there. Take your earplugs! Enjoy.

I will have a GREAT time, thanks!

After reading my post, it sounds like a guy tossed candy at me. He threw it like a baseball. Smack! right on the outside mirror then landed in my lap. Complete idiot!

Anyway I got over it.

Unfortunately I have experienced the same thing when I had just got my 04 C5. A jeep sped by me and then threw a bunch of trash out and all over my car. I actually did chase them down and when they didn't pull over I called in their tag and reported them. Unfortunately it doesn't end there. I always park my vette far away from other cars even if it means I have to walk a good distance to wherever I am going. I came out from work one day to see a key mark on one of my fenders. Some people just hate the fact that we are lucky enough to drive vettes. Be careful with your rides!!

I'm really sorry to hear about that. The lack of respect is appaulling. Glad you didn't go after him.

Last week here in San Antonio, a couple of kids in a ricer accidently cut some redneck driving a pickup truck off on the freeway while they were exiting. The guy followed them off the ramp, waited until they stopped, got out of his truck, walked up to their car, and shot the driver dead...

No sense taking chances....

Default AssH*les are everywhere

In my previous vert, even though I have always parked several places back from the mainstream, I have had someone throw french friesonce, then once a soda of some sort and then once again a condom, in the open top while parked. This is at reaonably nice resturants or shopping centers. Some people are pigs and I'm not sure what I would do if I actually caught them in the act.

Steve, some times Satan wants to rob the joy God gave you. A great job to buy your dream car. Dont give it any more energy. Enjoy your vette. I will be on the road with you in about 8 weeks.

For every moron like that, you will probably get 10 thumbs up. The morons are not happy people. Happy people are glad to see others reach their dreams.

And not only that, you will never see that dumb *** again, so do not waste any energy on these negative people. They are not part of your life. Just concentrate on positive people and let it go.

Sorry to hear you had to deal with such a clown! Unfortunately there are sick people no matter where you go. Sounds as if you did the right thing.

Yes Blue with steel grey. My personal 777 ride. At night the cockpit should look great with these colors.

Some young guy in a new BMW cut off my cousin who was driving has 1972 yellow vert . My cousin (who was at that time a body builder and kickboxer) caught him at a stop light, got out of his car and bashed in all of his windows with a tire iron.(said guy just sat there crying)

When he got home the police was on the phone. Someone took down his license plate number. The person on the other end of the phone just happen to go to high school with him , warned him, and told him to forgetaboutit.

I love it! I bet the BMW driver has changed into a very courteous driver now!

Back in the good ol days you could do that. Now a days it doesn't matter how big you are. Someone will shoot you. Ever see the original Indiana Jones? He shoots the guy with the big knife! Priceless!
