Has anyone had a problem where the CD, either original or a copy, skips during playing?
I haven't yet had the problem in my Corvette, but I've experienced it in other cars. Try using a cleaning disc. When the optics get dirty, you will start getting skipping problems.
I'll also note that some people have reported skipping problems where a cleaning disc didn't fix them. Chevy has replaced their HUs under warranty in such cases. Usually, if a serviceman opens up a skipping CD player, he's going to find dirt in the mechanism is the culprit, but Chevy dealers don't have component level servicemen in their shops, so they just swap out the offending units.
Need help with this also..forum's dead past 1/1/05
Back in the first months of production, this problem did exist. In fact, my CD player didn't work coming out of bowling green day one on the way home. I've never had it fixed, but now my car is at the dealer and they don't know what to do.
The forum has been cleared of all 2004 post where the info for this would exist. Anyway to access posts from 2004?
