My 3 week experience with a CAGS eliminator is that the 1-2 shift is still really reluctant until the trans warms up. So reluctant that sometimes it feels like it's being locked out. On ocasions when I need a gear fast in the first 10 minutes after start-up I find that I occasionally go to 4th on my own because it works. It has led me to wonder if that's the real reason for CAGS in the first place--to cover for the balkiness of the trans when cold. I agree with the electrical logic that the elimator has to work all the time, but I share the experience that the shifting doesn't feel that way until the transmission warms up.

Must disagree. The "stupid" takes precedence over the "I'm with". As for "getting over", I don't have anything to get over. I wasn't even involved, was merely pointing out that it's sort of an insulting icon but apparently people use it without realizing that, and due to forum dynamics it's sometimes misapplied.
