Floor Jack
My jacking post, with the whole write up also kept at http://c6.81x.com for safekeeping.
You CAN jack the C6 from the middle, with just one jack. The C6 weighs 3600 pounds (convertible), so a 2 ton jack to lift half of that is much more than adequate.
I did not have a special low profile jack. Just a standard jack that I bought at NAPA. I think it has a height of 5 inches or so. The key is to drive the front wheels up on wooden blocks first.

I used a 2X4 because that's all I had. But a 2X10 would be much better to give the wheels a wider platform to rest on while you slide the jack underneath.
jacking from the center works just fine.
here's the picture labelled:
the locations recommended in the owner's manual are off to the side. "B" shows the midpoint between those two locations, which is also fine. But I used a point about a foot in front of B.
and agree with above -- don't expect two jacks to hold the car. Definitely
- chock the back wheels
- use just one jack in the center
- then, once up on the jack, put two jack stands under the car using your jacking pucks.

Just my own opinion. I know everybody develops his own way of doing this. Just don't get squished.
The 2 ton low profile aluminum is regularly priced at $199 and is not on sale this weekend.
Too bad. Looks like a good jack.

edit: This was 2 months ago but the Craftsman Club sale runs monthly.
I called today.
Will check tomorrow.
A little while ago they ran a special on a lower capacity low profile aluminum.
Apparently, they were closing out that item.

Anyway, the NAPA jack is also 32" long and the length of the 2 3/4 low profile is 14" long. I've yet to see a jack out there with these dimensions for a $199 price. Only problem with the NAPA jack is its very heavy.
For the C6 or even an unlowered C5, I'd get a harbor freight aluminum 3.5" low profile jack for like $129.

I've seen that mid rise lift. Those are amazing. I heard they are real heavy and tough to move though. How long have you had it? I know a guy who has a RED Norco and it extends to a 42" height. I know that BENDPAK makes them also
The only safe way to jack up a Corvette is to use a good jack under the cross members (front or rear). I sometimes use stands as Bugman shows, but I usually put the stands under the cross member on either side of the jack.
