Lets see, I have had my C6 for 30 days and now have 2036 miles.... Yep I hate it... NOT!!!!!!!!! But I did go see one and test drive one beforeI bought.
Why all the flames directed at this guy? He is entitled to his opinion. I agree he didn't do his homework and was remiss to take delivery. It seems like a matter of "the emperors clothes" with respect to the rear end. I love the handling and the performance but the designers dropped the ball from the back of the doors to the end. A profile view of the car looks as if the rear has been truncated and "chopped off". The C5 IMHO is the better looking car. Performance and handling factored in the C6 is the winner. Peace
And probably the worst one was the back end of the car when standing behind it looks horrible. Maybe it's because it is so narrow compared to the C5 but it is not appealing at all and does not seem to fit the bill for the top of the line US sports car.
That's funny because I didn't buy the C5 for exactly the opposite reason. The a$$ end was way to wide. The car reminded me of a beautiful secretary sitting at a desk. Then she stands up and has this humongous a$$ that just causes you to turn away. Strange analogy I know but that's how the C5 looks to me. It's a great car but not for me.

It's obvious, you just said it. We all are well aware he's entitled to his opinion, it's still funny that he'd dump $63k into a car that he apparently made no effort to look at. That's why it's funny.

YEA YEA YEA ...ITS NOT PERFECT BUT IT STILL STOPS TRAFFIC...BUT IF YOUR NOT HAPPY THEN LOOK IN THE PAPER FOR A C5...I LOVE MY C6 BUT STILL THINK THE C5 IS WORTH EVERY COMPLIMENT IT GETS
The C5 is too long and wide... this is why I could not justify buying one two years ago.
The C6 on the other hand is truly beautiful. They finally got it right this time. The C6 reflects all the best styling details from all former Corvettes while having it's own unique character. And most importantly, its weight, balance and dimensions are perfect. Absolutely perfect, at least given the current technology and cost bracket.
As of last year, I never would have considered spending a whopping $50k+ for a mere automobile, but the C6 is just SO perfect, at least in terms of appearance and overall design, I have decided to buy.
In addition to simply wanting to own one, I want to show my support for such a great design... so I will "vote with my wallet" as they say, and show Dave Hill and crew that they really hit the mark with this one. If they were still selling the C5 at this point, I definitely would not have bought one... not that the C5 is terrible or anything, but in my opinion, you cannot compare it to a C6.
I know some had called the C6 a "C5 and a half" when it first came out. If we want to use that frame of reference, I'd call it a "C5 that has been de-flawed and greatly improved".
As for the person who made the original post here... no offense intended, but you must be nuts. If you cannot appreciate a stellar automotive design, ok, we'll let that pass. But how the heck do you invest over $50k on something you have not even looked at??? I've been researching, studying, looking at and testing the C6 for over 10 months now and will continue to do so for the next few months before I buy. Not only do I want to make sure the car is all I expect it to be, I also want to make sure it's the car I truly desire. Call me insane, but I'm not shelling out a whopping $50k+ without doing at least that.
Hey, don't feel bad. At least know that you've got one excellent car there, even if you have some petty gripes about the appearance, etc. At least know that true car guys will respect your car... and chicks love it... and the size / dimensions really help to make the car what it is in terms of performance... so, you in fact made out quite well. Enjoy your car!

I traded in a year old C5 red convertible for new LMB C6 Coupe Z51 ... I didn't like the vert. and overall look of C5 as much as C6 ... but to each his own ... get into what you like
Well went down to look at the convertible I ordered 8 months ago and was very disappointed. Here is my list:
XM antenna in the middle of the decklid - horrible.
The side of the convertible top running above the top of the window glass is about 2 feet of straight canvas. Does not follow the lines of the car well at all.
The door handle openings... You could fit a baseball in there.
Exhaust was not even and seemed very loose.
Polished wheels looked like someone took some sandpaper to them. $1,200 option go figure.
And probably the worst one was the back end of the car when standing behind it looks horrible. Maybe it's because it is so narrow compared to the C5 but it is not appealing at all and does not seem to fit the bill for the top of the line US sports car.
There were a few other things but for $63K this was not what I was expecting. I know it is a better car than the C5 and C4 technology wise and even ride comfort I am sure but there were just too many things that did not seem right to me to justify the expenditure. So I am letting it go. Maybe the Z06 will fit the bill for not much more $$ wise.
I think you made the right decision. You shouldn't buy something you are not pleased with. There are plenty of buyers out there that are waiting to get theirs and now one more is available
I drooled with envy the first time I saw a C5 way back in 1997. Even though I was not in the market for a Vette for another 8 years, this car was something special. Then, in the fall of 2003 my wife finally gave the okay to go for it and buy my dream. I knew nothing of the new C6 that was being leaked and speculated about. Corvette Forum helped fill me in. What to do, get the C5 or wait for the C6? 1/7/04 I put a refundable $1K on a C6 with a local dealer to hold a spot. Then I was off to the Philly car Show, Feb 04, to get a look. C5's and a beautiful DSOM/Cashmere C6 coupe on a revolving stand. I looked at that car, I know for at least 2 hours. Went away, then came back again at least 4 times. As always, the C5's still looked good. But that C6 just took my breath away. I was sold. Then the talk started about the new red! Percision, putrid, too dark, dull, and many other negative descriptive comments were being made, mostly by C5 torch red fans looking at poor reproduction digital photos of PR. So off I go again, this time to the New York Show a month later. And there it was, a PR Coupe with cashmere. This red was beautiful! Called the dealer and changed my order to PR/Ebony, then remained quiet for the next 8 months while the PR debate ensued! Laughing the whole time. I've had my PR C6 for 9 months now and the love continues. Is there a point here? I guess I'm trying to convey that I can't imagine anyone spending this much on anything without doing the research, first hand!!!
