Please join me in welcoming members Mr & Mrs CRUSH and their VR C6
I had the pleasure of meeting new member(s) CRUSH, (John and his wife Christi) today. We have been trading IM's for a couple of weeks because they live close by. John and Christi came by the office today so I could meet them and see their beautiful new VR/Ebony/Z51/1SB/A4 Coupe w/ polished wheels, and NAV. It's a sweet ride and John and Christi are a great addition to the Forum.
And guess what else?? That's right ....... they let me drive their, um, I mean, Christi's C6 . Let me tell you, I've never driven an A4 Corvette before. It is a blast. There's something about that "point and shoot" effect of the A4 that makes it a blast to drive. Flooring it at 60 mph creates a crisp downshift and the righteous application of 400 lb-ft of LS2 torque. The car pulls VERY strongly. Upshifts and downshifts were strong and crisp. I can see how misleading the smooth application of power can be. If I hadn't been watching the speedo, I would not have thought I went from 60 mph to 90 mph so quickly. It was a definite blast. I liked John said the brakes squeal but my hearing ain't the best (that's one of the secrets of a successful marriage) so I couldn't hear them. I think I'll be just fine with the brakes on my Z51 '06 Coupe.
Oh, and 1 more thing, John cost me $1200 . I thought I didn't need the transparent top until I drove his. Looks like I'll need both tops. The "looking up at the sky thing" is
