Audio System Went Silent
Don't know if this is your problem, but mine is silent for about 30-45 seconds after starting if the other driver (fob) was used previously. I guess it takes that long to load up the audio prefrences, channel presets, etc.
Happened to me too. Turned on car, turned radio on, time would show and then radio would shut off, all within 5 sec. Tried 5-6 times, same thing. Turned off car, restarted car, turned on radio...it stayed on and that has never happened again!
In 8 months of ownership, that's the only gremlin that I've encountered!

If it happens again, your dealer will replace the radio under warranty. GM is aware of the problem. My dealer told me that vehicles other than the Corvette have had the same problem with the Bose unit.
I'm having my radio replaced this week for the muting problem.

Same problem with mine 3 times. The 3rd time, the dealer reprogrammed the radio, which fixed the problem. He did tell me he'd replace the radio if it happens again.
Mine shut down as i was playing with the memory switches on the door panel. Pushed button 2, radio went off, HUD changed, maybe a couple of other things too. Pushed button 1 and got HUD back but radio didn't come back on until I shut down and restarted.
Various Radio/CD Player Concerns (Replace Radio) #04-08-44-023B - (May 12, 2005)
Various Radio/CD Player Concerns (Replace Radio)
2005 Buick Terraza
2005 Chevrolet Corvette, Uplander
2005 Pontiac Montana SV6
2005 Saturn Relay
with CD Player MP3 Radio (RPO US8) or CD Changer MP3 Radio (RPO US9)
This bulletin is being revised to add the Saturn Relay and update the Parts Information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 04-08-44-023A and Corporate Bulletin Number 05-08-44-006 (Section 8 -- Body and Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment about one or more of the following conditions:
• No audio after ignition cycle.
• Radio presets change and audio is lost after 2-3 seconds.
• Radio always returns to FM1 after CD is ejected instead of previous selected band.
• CD will not play above a certain track number.
• CD changer reads "CD Full" when it is not.
• CD eject button sticks. Refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 04-08-44-022.
Some of these conditions may be intermittent and reset after the ignition is cycled.
Cause
These conditions may be caused by a software anomaly in the radio.
Correction
Important: The new radio must be set up for the option configuration of the vehicle. If the radio setup is not performed, the digital radio receiver, vehicle communication interface module (VCIM), disc player and video display, and the steering wheel controls may not work properly. The radio may display a calibrate message on the display.
Replace the radio with an exchange unit. Refer to the Radio Replacement procedure in the Entertainment sub-section of Service Information (SI Document ID #1527234 - Montana SV6, Relay, Terraza, Uplander or SI Document ID #1459675 - Corvette).

But of course it is cheaper to replace it under warranty-it's free. But it doesn't get you a better system

Don't mind the OEM system at all.
