My fit is good, and doesn't make any noise...very solid. As for scratches, technically so does the body if you dry it with sand paper.

I haven't had any scratch problems, but I am very careful...plus I dry my vette a lot with a 90 mph hair dryer (highway).

I did not have a transparent roof in my C5, but came with one in my C6. I love it, though I wish I had the solid roof as an option. I like it for days when I need the roof, but enjoy the "open" feel. Highly recommend getting both. I want to locate an LMB top to have the set, and it is difficult to locate.

Florida and Texas. Only have the see through and love it. Only put it on for road trip and rain.

In Florida you'll need the solid top and since you can't buy the painted top after you get the car get it.That said I sold my silver top and love the clear top.One of the best features of the car, something a vert can't do,but I live in the cool mountains of NC.

Have DSOM with the transparent. I think that color looks better with the contrasting top. Also I love to look up (when not driving) the blue tint it seems to have makes the sky look great.

I have the Arctic White C6 with the transparent top. Like the looks of the transparent top with the color. Yes, the sun makes the interior hot, but the AC handles it good. No complaints with the transparent top.

My Black C6 came with the solid top. I bought the transparent top after about a month. I thought I would use the transparent top in the winter and the solid top in the summer. So far I still have the transparent top on the car. I live in North Carolina, and we have had some plus 90 days. The solid top is in a closet somewhere.

On the black car, the transparent top does not change the look from the outside, but it makes the car feel more open from the inside. I, like many others, take the top off as often as possible, but it is good for long interstate trips, rainy days, and when you just don't take the time to take the top off before a short trip.

I hope the C6 clear top is better than the C5's. On the C5, the clear tops have a little problem with the passenger side coating coming off in a stripe from front to back.

It adds a cool look from the inside of the cockpit and a great feel for mountain or fall/spring season drives..To me it's a must have and I live in Florida so only the babies will whine about the heat..

I would order both if cost is not an issue. Some like the looks of the contrast some do not. If you had both you could go with what works that day.

I disagree, fully. The Z06 exhaust was acceptable, but the C5 stock exhaust was downright pathetic.

I had both tops on my C5. Never put the painted top on. I live in Vegas so the heat certainly can be offset by simply turning on the A/C.

Much more fun to drive the strip with the top off, but okay with the glass top too. Nice views when you wanna look up.

Body color is the way to go.

I absolutely love the lines of the coupe, and the colored top really makes the car in my opinion. Brings the STINGRAY to mind. Beautiful car!! Have to have the body colored top though..

I have both and I thinks thats the way to go. The glass top is really striking when inside the car, gives more head room, and offsets the car color. That said...it HOT AS HELL in South Texas in the summer and I put the metal top on to cut the heat. If ya can...get both!

Looks like everyone has an opinion on this topic. I've lived in Texas and now Southern California with my C4. Had both tops, put the solid top on once, drove for a week and switched to the clear top. In 14 years I never put the solid top back on. The thing just took up space in my garage. When I ordered my C6, I asked myself the same question. Bottom line, I only ordered the clear top, have not had any issues with scratching, love the open cockpit feeling even with windows up, and no, it does not get too hot. The top might contribute 10% to the heat entry, the untinted back hatch is 85% of the heat load. I'm getting the hatch and side windows tinted to solve this problem. Beyond all that, I find the dark look of the clear top looks more dramatic on the vette than the solid top. Everytime I see a VR coupe with the solid top, I realize I made the right choice.

Get both in the Summer the heat with a glass top will kill you but it sure is nice in the winter and it gives the car a different look with each.....That is one option that I would not be with out ROCK ON
