Missing Map DVD?
How many Cd's / DVD's are supposed to come with the C6's? I just took delivery on my slightly used C6. It came with 3 Cd's - no DVD's for the Nav. Can anyone please tell me what I am missing and to acquire what I need. Thanks...

Does the NAV work? If so, the DVD is in the slot, it won't work without it. There is only one map DVD. There is at least another CD and DVD for informational purposes.

I have a call into the dealer but I'll be shocked if they'll give me one. If someone out there can burn me one I would gladly pay for their time and whatever postage. Thanks for the suggestion.

Make the dealer give you a DVD. Any push back, remind them of the implied warranty that they sold you a Navigation system, implication being that it works. Unless they sold the vehicle AS-IS, they owe you the disc. It's very pricey - don't settle for a copy.

Have you talked to the previous owner? Do you know their name or where they live?
Caveat Emptor! Did you try the NAV before you bought the car or get it checked thoroughly by a mechanic?
I would NOT use this forum as a means of eliciting an illegal copy of the NAV DVD... that's NOT what this forum is about. And I will say one last thing:

Your right. The Forum should not be used to solicit illegal copies of anything. All I tried to ask is if a member could lend me a LEGAL backup copy to load. Last I knew it is still legal to back up your CD's and/or DVD's. If I'm mistaken I apologise. Its not like boot-legging Windows Xp. I paid for the Nav and I want the accessories to operate it.

First check to be sure the map DVD is not already loaded and just not being read. The General has had some problems with the Nav not reading the DVD. Had to take the wife's 05 Caddie back. They replaced the entire unit.

Well, I think it was an oversight by the last owner. He said he never used the Nav. I asked him to please look around for the DVD and manual. Since he's getting a new 06 maybe his local dealer will flip him one. Our transaction was smooth, upfront and he has been very helpful. I hope he comes up with DVD and the Manual.
