Has anyone even proved that the C6 is faster than the C5

I now have a C6 Z51 M6 in addition to my '02 Z06. The Z06 got 355 RWHP on the dyno. I have no idea what the C6 will do, but let me assure you that the C6 is damn near as quick as the Z06 is. Hnadling is still Z06 territory.
Both are head and shoulders above my 2000 Coupe.

It's a conspiracy. Dave Hill and crew are actually stupid enough to make a car with 50 more hp slower.
They like to move backwards in technology and design. It's their thing.
The C7 will be foot powered like the Flintstone's car in order to guarantee it's slower than the C6.

The C6 is a better all around car than the C5. No question. It just does not look as good as the C5. Hill, Peters and crew fell way short on styling. This "new" generation does not have the "wow" factor. Plain and simple. Of course, having said all this I'll probably buy an '07. You gotta keep up with the times.

In Corvette fever magazine( I think that is the one) A pro ran a stock C5 6speed to 12.7 in the 1/4 at 108.(stock runflats).. The C6 stock runs 12.6 at 115(stock runflats)...very close, 7 mph(theres your 50 HP)) and .1 difference, But what we need to do is run both side by side in exact conditions...IMHO I think that the C6 is a great car but not worth the extra money right now. wait till it depreciates, And if you own a C5 just mod it alittle and it will be faster. you can make any Vette stupid fast, And the C5 IS THE BEST DEAL ANYWHERE FOR THE PRICE. The C6 will be in several years. But by then the C5 will still be the best deal for the price)
I run consistent low 12's high 11's with just LT's, 3200 stall and tuning) I ran 13.3 Bonestock, and 12.8 at 107 with just a 3200 stall/315's...Now 12.2's.... so you figure a C6 will run alittle faster with the same mods

I didn't buy my C6 because it was faster than a C5, a speeding bullet or a Gremlin. I bought it because I wanted to buy a Corvette and am fortunate enough to have the means.
If there was no C6 I would've bought a 2005 C5.
If I thought I could I would've bought a a '62 which is really the Vette I would rather have, but financially I could not justify spending the jack for a great example that could not be used as a daily driver.
A nice clean stock '62 is way slower than a C3, C4, C5, C6, Mustang, GTO. I'm not talking about a hot rodded one but a stock one, I know you can make a '62 fast but then you devalue it.
I didn't buy my Vette because it was fast, and it doesn't matter to me. Yes I've taken it up to 165 MPH, and cruised for extended miles at 130+,yes I'll race the random Mustang or Ricer when the opportunity arises, because it's fun.
I refuse to canabalize my own(other Vettes, any year) at the expense of other Vette owners dignity. I like them all.

I had my 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005 at Beach Bend during the Birthday Bash. All were automatics with the 3.15 axle. The best any C5 did was 13.35 @ 105 mph. My C6 did it in 12.96 @ 108.5 mph.

I never warmed up to the C5 styling, too big, too round, too fat butted. I fell in love with C6 the first time I saw it. It just looks cool, something I personally think they missed in the C5 styling (I know opinons are like A$$holes, everyone has one & they all stink).
