Default Windshield problems...

I got hit by a rock on I70 when my C6 was 8 days old. When I got back to California, I called the dealer and ordered a new windshield
($1000.00 +). After 5 or 6 weeks it came in and they installed it. It had a distortion in the lower corners. The dealer ordered another windshield. After another 4 or 5 weeks it came in and was installed last Saturday. I has the same distortion. I don't know why they didn't look at it before they put it in. Yesterday I sent an email to Chevrolet. They responded immediately. They will call me today.

My windshield was fine, they just put it in CROOKED. Stealerships almost always have an outside glass company come in and do windshields. My roof seals are compressed on one side (to the point where they pop out) and loose on the other. Needless to say, they are ripping it out and trying again. They also messed up the lower windshield wiper/cowling piece, and I made them also order the seal around the windshield - in addition to a now-shaky mirror, which they also ordered. I just need to find the time to "loose" the car for another day, so they can put it in - hopefully straight this time and without doin any ADDITIONAL DAMAGE to my paint/car.

I wouldn't even consider using the dealer for this type of fix. Find a good glass company to replace it.

If you have HUD Make sure they order the right windshield which is darker then the original & made for viewing HUD.

The dealer gets the glass from GM, then hires a glass company to put it in. The HUD works.

The correct windshield has HUD written on the windshield with the rest of the ID.
