Yea I know it was dumb, but when putting in my harness I scratched the console (silver) and it shows to the black plastic beneath. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Will I need to repaint the whole console? Can I just touch it up? (How?)
Good reason to buy a new console that matches your exterior color or go carbon fiber But seriously, like ljtC6 said, some paint will probably be the only answer.
I have the same scratch problem. The paint is not available from GM. You can try to do a coverup job with something that looks close but that may not look good either.
You could try using Machine Silver touchup paint. The colors are almost the same, although the console is less shiny. Slight blotting of the touchup might dull it enough to match. BTW, the painted wheels are also appear the same as MS.

Temporary easy fix so it won't make you crazy, fine line silver metallic waterproof marker(Staples, might have to buy an assortment).Real fix A) Refinish B) Replace
At our dealer, we have a service that does interior repairs. I know our guy is very, very good. Call a dealer and get a referral from a good company. I am confident you will be pleased.
Pricey, but buy a set of the 06 console parts. They appear to be more durable (& a couple of shades darker). I've got a black C6, so there's no "painted to color" replacements, and the carbon fiber really doesn't do anything for me.
Thanks for the suggestions - I'll try the easy / least expensive first. I plan to DRIVE this car not show it but .. if it bothers me too much I may go with the replacement. Thanks.
