This puts the entire thread in a different perspective. Our cars are plastic and when a tire lets loose, things could break as referenced above any by EB2003. Non Run flats maybe better in some respects but if you have a blowout .............they could ruin your entire day

I have heard that such products can really do a job on your wheel sensors.

I completely forgot the incident my neighbor had. He drives a Dodge Intripid and he had a blow out on the freeway. The tire deflated and shredded in to pieces. He pulled over as quickly as he could and got the car stopped. When he got out, he saw chunks of the tire on the road behind him. He also realized that the shredding tire had ripped the inner fender panel and the entire plastic rear bumper from the car. He had to gather all the pieces and somehow get them into the trunk of the car. The body shop had to replace the rear bumper which had to be painted, and the inner fender. It cost about $2000.00. All of this from having a blow out! Those Run Flats are looking better and better, aren't they?
