You answered your own question right there. The reason it costs that much is because people like you are willing on paying it.

Except for adding the curb feelers I'm leaving mine fairly stock. Oh well, who knows may add some blue dots and a set of fuzzy dice as well. Then I was thinking that a real nice set of plastic seatcovers might save the leather seats. So many decisions............

Default Because it has the name Corvette associated with that part

If you want a car that you want to modify that is easier and reasonable in price get a 5.0 Mustang.

The responsibility for the high prices lies with those willing to pay them.

I'm keeping mine bone stock except for adding a storage pouch behind the passenger seat (but that doesn't count as a mod).

Hmm sounds like you have a problem with fuzzy dice... its the biggest bling bling for the price... besides everyone knows that hanging those fuzzy dice with snake eyes looking forward will make your car go faster!!!

There are some who want even the Corvette to cost more to enhance it's exclusivity.

Guess you don't own a Harley! Makes Corvette parts look positively inexpensive. I have to agree with the poster who said can the bling and spend the money where it counts.
